Three Considerations That Can Take Your Custom Tee Design to the Next Level

Believe it or not, you don’t have to be a graphic designer to make really awesome, cheap custom tee shirts. You just need to have a good idea. The design is, after all, the most important part of your custom tees.

That being said, there are a few, simple ways you can make your custom tees even better. Small little touches that will really make them extraordinary. Here are a few consideration you’d be wise to make before finalizing your design and order.

Consider Printing on the Back, Too.

Why print exclusively on the front of your custom tees? There’s a whole back you can print on, too. Consider breaking your text in half, and putting part of it on the back to make the custom tees more dynamic. You could also put the main graphic on the back of your custom tees, and include a smaller version on the breast of the custom tees, a popular design often used by firefighters, the military, and other professional organizations.

Consider a Different Style of Apparel.

Why only get tees? Many screen printers have a wide range of apparel you can slap your design on. Instead of going with your average tee, consider getting custom long sleeve tees, custom baseball tees, customized hoodies, or even custom sweatpants. The possibilities are seemingly endless (just so long as the apparel is made out of the right fabric, that is).

Consider Using Multiple Colors in Your Design.

Why only use one ink, when screen printers have a milieu of different colors you can use to make your custom tees really pop? Though it’s best to keep things simple and minimalistic, adding a second — or potentially a third — color can be a great way to make your custom tees stand out from the rest. Just be sure to choose colors that work together. Keep your colors either exclusively warm, or exclusively cool. If you’ve chosen an ink color that’s complimentary to the color of your apparel, consider adding some black or white to the design.

These simple ideas can help you take your custom shirts to the next level. Though it might cost a bit more to print on the back, print on higher-end apparel, or print with multiple, analogous colors, you do get what you pay for. You’ll get a lot more out of your custom apparel if you invest just a bit extra.
